Elderly man dies after car hits ditch in Clare

A female passenger is in a stable condition in hospital.

A MAN AGED 75 has died after the car he was driving hit a ditch in Clare.

A 78-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to University Hospital Limerick where she’s believed to be in a stable condition.

It happened at Gortmore, Ennis at around 12 o’clock this afternoon.

A post mortem will be carried out on the man’s body.

The road was closed to facilitate a Garda forensic examination but has now reopened.

Gardai in Ennis are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
