Man (38) dies in single-vehicle collision in Maynooth

A female passenger was taken to Naas General Hospital with minor injuries.

A MAN HAS died after the 4×4 he was travelling in hit a ditch in Maynooth, Co Kildare this afternoon.

The incident happened at Ladychapel on the R408 at about 3.15pm.

A female passenger was taken to Naas General Hospital with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved. The man was 38 years old.

The road was closed to facilitate an examination by garda forensic collision investigators but has since reopened.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Leixlip garda station on 01 666 7800, the garda confidential telephone line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
