Poll: Has your car insurance premium gone up this year?

TDs are set to debate the issue today.

TDS WILL DEBATE a Fianna Fáil motion on rising motor insurance costs today.

The party says consumers have “been faced with an increase of over 60% in the cost of their motor insurance since January 2014, with a 34% increase in the last 12 months alone”.

Meanwhile, there has been a big jump in the number of drivers being refused motor insurance in recent years. Figures from Insurance Ireland show that 669 people were denied insurance in 2014, up from 308 in 2013 and 178 in 2012.
