Price Comparison: What can I buy in Co Carlow for under €500,000?

Detached or semi-detached from Graiguecullen to Tullow, here’s what’s on offer.

WHEN IT COMES to country living, being close to amenities is still hugely important, especially with a family in tow. Co Carlow offers a great mix of rural and urban life, especially if hybrid or remote working is set to continue for you. 

This week, we’ve found four spacious homes in the Dolmen County that are all under the €500,000 mark – all detached or semi-detached from Graiguecullen to Tullow, here’s what’s on offer. 

Four-bed, detached, Graiguecullen – €300,000

28 Barrowvale sits on the Portlaoise Road in the area of Graiguecullen. The rooms inside include an entrance hall, which leads to the sitting room at the front of the house, a big kitchen with a dining space through double doors and then a guest toilet and utility room. A side door leads to the garden that faces north west and is home to a garden shed. There is parking to the front and access to the back from both sides of the house. 

There are three double bedrooms and a single upstairs – the main has its own bathroom while the other two share the family bathroom. The attic has been converted and provide lots of extra storage or would suit a home office. This large four-bedder is part of a development that dates to 2004 and is made up of 89 family homes. The development is within a short walk to Aldi, a shopping centre and a national school.

Two more big bedrooms sit upstairs, the main has a walk-in wardrobe and its own bathroom, while the family bathroom is downstairs.

The house is just 500m off the N80 Carlow to Wexford road and equidistant from Carlow and Enniscorthy. The M9 is also just a short drive away, so Dublin is a manageable commute away. The villages of Ballon and Bunclody are just a short distance away with the larger towns of Carlow and Enniscorthy within easy reach, too.

Four-bed, semi-detached, Carlow Town – €320,000

Upstairs is home to a single bedroom to the front, the main bedroom with its en suite bathroom and two more double bedrooms to the back along with the family bathroom.

Located in Carlow town, the Millstream estate is popular for families and offers a great blend of rural and town living as everything Carlow has to offer is close by. The house also has a side entrance and a shed for extra storage.The estate is also close to plenty of transport links, so this is country living without complete isolation.

With off-street parking to the front and a detached garage, there’s plenty of space and storage, so it has all the makings of a busy family home. The rooms inside comprise a hall that leads to the sitting room, an open plan kitchen with dining space, a second lounge and a large utility room.  

Four bedrooms sit upstairs and all have walk-in wardrobes. The main bedroom has its own bathroom while the others share the family bathroom. The Park Gate development is under a kilometre from Tullow town centre, so everything is a walk away.
