Here's the average price of a home in Carrickmines in 2018

THE AVERAGE ASKING price of a home in Carrickmines is now just a shadow under €450,000, according to the latest figures from Daft.ie. 

Analysis across all properties advertised in the second quarter of 2018 puts the average list price at €449,406.

This is slightly above average for Dublin overall, but in line with some other neighbouring areas. Prices in Cabinteely, Cornelscourt and Leopardstown are somewhat higher on average (€482k and €501k respectively) while prices in Stepaside are lower, with an average of €377k.

Just to the northeast, however, the average price in Carrickmines’ D18 neighbour Foxrock is more than double at an incredible €930,124.

Prices in Carrickmines have increased only slightly over the last year when compared to some other city neighbourhoods. In the last twelve months the mean price has risen by 3.1 per cent, compared to a citywide average increase of 8.5 per cent.

During the Celtic tiger, asking prices in Carrickmines hit a peak of €664,312 before dropping to €269,055 during the recession.
