Masked men threaten staff and steal cash box from cash-in-transit van

But gardaí got it back.

TWO MASKED MEN made off with a cash box from a transit van, but gardaí recovered it soon after.

Gardaí in Santry are looking for information in finding the men, who threatened staff at a post office on Shantalla Road in Beaumont today at around 3.15pm.

The men threatened security staff outside the shop, before fleeing on foot with a cash box.

It’s understood they left the area in car and no one was injured during the incident.

During a follow-up search, gardaí located the cash-box and all of the money taken in the raid has now been recovered. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí in Santry are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them on 01 6664000 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
