Festival-goers have been advised to bring their wellies to any events this weekend because of the likelihood of rain. Boo.

THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE have descended on Charleville Castle in Tullamore for the annual Castlepalooza festival held on the castle grounds.

Ghostpoet, Jape, HAL and The Charlatans are among the headliners at the music and arts festival, which is now in its seventh year.

As has now become an accepted part of any Irish summer, festival-goers have been making use of their wellies with the seemingly never-ending summer rain predicted for later this evening.

A number of festivals, including Indiependence in Mitchelstown in Cork and the new Liss Ard festival in Skibereenare also taking place this bank holiday weekend, as well as Bray Summerfest, Galway Races and, of course, the Joe Dolan Mullingar Festival.

For anyone still looking for something to do this afternoon, TheJournal.ie has put together a run-down of some of the events taking place around the country across the bank holiday weekend.

Don’t forget to pack your wellies if you’re heading along to any of them…

Are you going to any festivals or events this bank holiday weekend? Let us know in the comments.
