Appeal for information after cat shot through the eye

Surgery was needed, and the cat (called ‘Judy’) is expected to survive, but may lose the eye.

POLICE IN ANTRIM are appealing for information after a cat was shot in the eye in the Beechfields area last Wednesday.

According to the PSNI, “sometime between 7pm and 11.45pm a cat by the name of Judy was shot through its left eye by a pellet gun”.

The pellet was lodged in the cat’s head.

Following surgery, it’s expected the cat will survive, but may lose its eye.

According to a statement:

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Beechfields area and who may have seen any suspicious activity or anyone who has any information which may assist them with their enquiries to contact officers in Antrim on the non emergency number 101.

“Information can also be passed anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
