Price Comparison: What can I buy around Co Cavan for under €400k?

From a four-bed in Virginia to a six-bed in Kingscourt.

GETTING TO GRIPS with a changing property market is tricky, but we’re here to make things a little easier. Each week, we pick a number of homes around a similar budget, to give you an idea of what your money will get you in a certain area.

This week, we’re looking at properties in Co Cavan priced below €400,000. 

Five-bed, detached, Ballinagh – €375,000

4 Ardkill Place is a large five-bed home that has a floor area of 212 m². Close to Ballinagh town and built in 2007, the ground floor comprises an entrance hall that leads to the living room, a dining room and then an open plan kitchen with a more casual dining and lounge area. There is also a tiled utility room and a double bedroom along with a bathroom. Four more double bedrooms sit upstairs, three of which have built-in wardrobes. Two of these bedrooms also have en suite bathrooms.

There’s a roomy garden to the back of the house and a driveway to the front that would fit three cars. Ballinagh town is just a short walk away, so schools, supermarkets and sporting facilities are all within easy reach. Cavan town is a ten minute drive away.

Six-bed, detached, Kingscourt – €395,000

Annagh is an impressive six-bed home that’s a whopping 307 m² in size. One of a development of 21 houses that are just a stroll  from Mullagh village, 18 Brookville is a spacious family home that comprises a hallway that links to one of the bedrooms on the ground floor, then a living room that leads to the dining room. The kitchen sits to the back of the house and from here you can step out to the south facing back garden with its pergola and patio. Three bedrooms sit upstairs, one of which has its own bathroom 

The house is in walk-in condition and close to everything Mullagh has to offer. There’s parking to the front and plenty of green space so the kids can play safely.

This huge 342 m² home is spread over three floors and is surrounded by the Cavan countryside. Six miles from the town of Virginia, it’s ready to walk into with luxurious finishes and fittings throughout, from porcelain tiles to coffered ceilings. There is even planning permission in place for a swimming pool. The rooms inside include a games room with a bar as well as a large living room. The kitchen is a large space with a dining area and a study, guest toilet and a utility complete the ground floor.

Four large bedrooms live on the first floor, and three of these have their own bathrooms. The floor above has another bathroom and three more rooms with renovation potential. The house is close to Killinkere national school and a leisure centre.
