Man released without charge following Celbridge death

A 36-year-old was found with head injuries at a house in the town, and was pronounced dead a short time later.

A MAN ARRESTED following the death of a man in Kildare on Tuesday has been released without charge.

Gardaí were called to the incident at Willowbrook Park at 8.50pm after paramedics discovered a man, Noel Winterlich (36), with head injuries.

He was pronounced dead shortly before 10.30pm.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene, and detained at Leixlip Garda Station.

Gardaí said today the man has been released without charge, a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are continuing. The results of a post mortem have not been released for operational reasons, gardaí say.

They are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was in the Willowbrook Park area of Celbridge to contact them at Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.
