There was chaos on Big Brother last night after the housemates thought David Gest had died

The ‘David’ in question was in fact David Bowie.

THE CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER house quickly descended into chaos after Angie Bowie heard the sad news of her ex-husband David’s death.

After confirming she would stay on the show, a heartbroken Angie exited the diary room and told housemate and MTV reality star Tiffany Pollard: “David’s dead.”

Unfortunately, Angie didn’t specify which David, and Tiffany assumed she meant their fellow housemate David Gest.

Tiffany quickly descended into hysterics and ran to tell the other housemates – what followed was a masterclass in poor communication (with NSFW language):

After around five minutes of chaos, it was confirmed that David Gest was still alive and asleep in another room, and Tiffany had gotten the name wrong.

The viewers at home were torn between feeling incredibly frustrated at what was going on, and having a guilty laugh:

A dramatic day ended with Kim Kardashian’s BFF Jonathan Cheban quitting the show, and tensions still high between Angie and Tiffany. Lord help us.
