Cement company to create 61 new jobs

That is more than 130 new jobs announced for Dublin today.

IN A SECOND positive jobs announcement today, building supplies group Ecocem said it would create 61 new positions over the next three years.

The jobs will be located at the firm’s new Dublin Port facility and are part of a wider €19 million investment programme.

The plant will be used to bag Ecocem’s environmentally-friendly cement.

About 25 direct positions will be developed at the plant, while another 36 jobs will be created indirectly.

Head of New Markets and Materials, Conor O’Riain, said the new facilities will allow for more manufacturing capacity for greater exports of green cement.

The announcement coincides with another expansion, revealed by Guidewire Software earlier today. The Silicon Valley firm plans to more than double its workforce in Dublin over the next year with 50 new recruits.
