Central Bank of Ireland issues final €15 animal collector coin

Only 8,000 collector coins were issued featuring a wolfhound with its pup.

THE LATEST COLLECTOR coin from the Central Bank of Ireland was issued today.

The €15 silver proof coin features a wolfhound with its pup.

It is the final coin in a series of three which pays tribute to the original 1928 coins designed by Percy Metcalfe and which featured iconic Irish animals including the Irish hunter horse and the salmon.

Only 8,000 coins were issued and they cost €46 per coin.
