Police are not treating the incident as suspicious.

A YOUNG CHILD has died after collapsing at a funfair in Co Down.

The boy was on a family visit to the Pleasureland amusement park, situated on the Central Promenade in Newscastle.

The PSNI have confirmed that they are not treating the incident as suspicious.

The Irish News is reporting that witnesses at the park said the child appeared to be “just faint”, but that it soon became clear that his condition was more serious.

Following the incident the park was closed to allow police to examine the scene before later being reopened.
