THREE TEENAGERS IN Florida have been arrested in connection with an Instagram account that featured naked pictures of juveniles.
The account had nude and sexually explicit images of a number of young people from the Broward County area. It solicited followers to post explicit images of their peers in order to “expose” them.
When Pembroke Police Department began investigating the account in December 2014, the account had 500 followers who posted images of teens in the area and included their names and other personal information.
Followers also “harassed the victims by posting cruel comments in response to the images,” police said. They were able to identify the three teens who created the account and they have all been charged with electronic transmission of child pornography.
Their names are not being realised by police because they are juveniles. However the Sun Senitel reports that they are 12 and 15-year-old boys and one 13-year-old girl.
Police have urged the community to pay close attention to their children’s online activity.
