Young children climb out house window, found at nearby garage

Gardaí say the children were safe and sound and returned to their parents.

TWO CHILDREN WERE found at a shop near their home in Portlaoise after climbing out a window and going for a wander.

The two siblings, who were three to four years of age, said gardaí, left their house through a window and made their way outside.

It is believed the children were barefoot and in their nappies at the time.

They wandered away from the house and “ended up across the road” in a garage forecourt shop.

The gardaí were called by staff, and the children were swiftly brought back to their home.

They were unharmed and there won’t be a garda investigation into the incident.
