Ready, steady, cook!

WHETHER THE ONLY dish you order from your local Chinese take away is a 3-in-1, or you know the difference between kung pao and moo shu, everyone can benefit from a taste of real Chinese food. 

If you’re looking to impress guests or just pick up a new skill, these four events are sure to bring out your inner chef. 

1. Traditional Chinese Food Experience

When: Friday, 8 March

Where: M&L, 13-14 Cathedral Street, Dublin 1

At this event in one of north Dublin’s most popular Chinese restaurants, guests will share and learn about the brief history and cultural background of 13 authentic Chinese dishes.

2. Dumpling Making, Demonstration and Tasting

When: Sunday, 24 March

Where: The Vintage Teapot, 8 Cathedral Street, Dublin 1

Learn how to make dumplings from the very best at this event, taught by M&L Restaurant’s dumpling chef. Attendees will taste five types of dumplings, as well as getting to cook their own.

3. Asian Cooking Classes

When: Throughout the year

Where: Multyfarnham Cookery School, Coole Road, Co Westmeath

Held throughout the year, this cooking class will introduce aspiring chefs to the cooking of Thailand, China, India and Sri Lanka. Two dishes from each country will be prepared during the two-and-a-half hour class, with all ingredients and course materials supplied.
