AHMED MOHAMED, THE Texas teenager arrested after a homemade clock he brought to school was mistaken for a bomb, has capped a whirlwind month with a visit to the White House.
Ahmed got a personal invitation from President Barack Obama for ‘Astronomy Night’.
The two met and chatted briefly during last night’s event.
Earlier yesterday, Ahmed said he was grateful for the president’s support and said he’s okay with the nickname that so many have given him over the past few weeks — “clock kid.”
He said the lesson of his experience is:
“Don’t judge a person by the way they look. Always judge them by their heart.”
Last month, Ahmed brought the clock to his school to show a teacher, but another teacher thought it could be a bomb. The school contacted police, who ultimately chose not to charge Ahmed with having a hoax bomb, though he was suspended from school.
Obama subsequently Tweeted an invitation to Ahmed and said the US should inspire more kids like him to enjoy science.
Ahmed’s family is looking at several options for a new school.
He hopes to eventually go to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and become an engineer.
The White House invitation brought some backlash. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz complained that Obama didn’t give law enforcement officials the same respect he’s giving Ahmed.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the president had made clear in many settings the respect he has for law enforcement officers.
Ahmed said he has visited Google and Facebook, along with other companies and institutions in recent weeks.
He also visited with the president of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir, which has prompted some criticism because al-Bashir is wanted by International Criminal Court on charges of genocide and war crimes for atrocities linked to the Darfur fighting. Advisers deflected a question on that topic and instructed Ahmed to not answer.
South Lawn
Ahmed posed for pictures with NASA astronaut Alvin Drew shortly before Obama addressed the students on the South Lawn, and he got to introduce himself to the president when Obama waded out toward the audience to shake hands with visitors after his speech.
Obama told the crowd that NASA was developing the capabilities to send humans to Mars in the 2030s.
“That means some of the young people who are here tonight might be working on that project,” Obama said.
“Some of you might be on your way to Mars. America can do anything.”
The students visiting the South Lawn of the White House last night got the chance to explore samples of rocks from the moon, Mars and various meteorites. They met with astronauts and peered at the planets and stars through telescopes.

What’s that got to do with anything related to him being arrested for having a clock?
Bashir has also been on multiple state trips in the last few years to countries such as China, Qatar and South Africa. They would be the ones with a moral and legal duty to arrest him not a 14 year old boy

Certain interpretations of Islam are filled with hate and misogyny. This does not mean all interpretations are or that other religions and political ideologies are not subject to the same process. He took the electronics out of an alarm clock & taped them into a metal case, – claiming he had ‘invented’ a new type of alarm clock. The whole thing was a scam, – it was meant to look like a bomb & he was probably put up to it by his father, a Muslim activist.
When questioned for hours by the teachers & police, he refused to answer their questions, claiming he was the victim of ‘racism’.
Almost everyone fell for it, – including Obama, it seems.

The liberals seems not to comprehend that it doesn’t have to be an explosive… Parading something resembling a bomb around a school, station, airport, government office where it could be left behind or fall into someone else’s hands is a disaster situation waiting to happen. All it takes is one kid to tweet a picture of the ‘hoax bomb’ at their school and you have a full scale panic.

From what I’ve read, which is limited information on the actual event, no one thought it was a bomb. They thought it was an attempt at a bomb hoax, which is in itself a serious offence.

It did. This whole incident was provoked by Islam advocates to make Muslims look like they’re victimised (while Middle East Muslims continue their programme of ethnic cleansing against anyone considered to be non-Muslim) and Barack Obama and his gullible administration fell for it hook, line and sinker.

They didn’t believe it was a bomb, – They simply wanted to find out why he made a hoax bomb and brought it into school. he refused to answer teacher’s questions, so they called the cops, who seemed to know that it was going to be him, probably because the sister pulled a similar stunt for which she was suspended.

I mean, it never came out of his lips, he never did something or started showing it around saying ‘Look at this bomb I have.’”
Irving Police Chief Boyd responded: “There definitely was some confusion and some level of information that didn’t come out immediately.”
