One man was arrested after his car was stopped in Glanmire and gardaí discovered cannabis herb in the vehicle.

GARDAÍ IN CORK investigating the sale and supply of illegal drugs seized drugs with an estimated street value of €590,000 in two operations yesterday.

Cannabis herb worth an estimated €380,000 was seized after gardaí stopped a car at Sallybrook, Glanmire yesterday afternoon. The car’s driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene.

He was the only person in the car at the time and was held at Cobh Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

He appeared in court this evening and has been released on bail, but is due to appear in court again on Thursday.

In a follow-up operation later yesterday afternoon, gardaí searched a house in the Carrigtwohill area and discovered cannabis and cocaine worth an estimated €210,000, subject to analysis.
