Price Comparison: What will a budget of €600k get me in Co Kildare?

Including a surprisingly spacious home in Kildangan and a outright huge house near Naas.

LOOKING FOR THE perfect home but hoping to get as much bang for your buck as possible? You are not alone. 

That’s why, every week, we pick four homes within a similar budget in one location, to give you a better idea of the property landscape right now.

This week, we’re heading to Co Kildare and looking at properties on the market for under €600,000. 

Five-bed, detached, Newbridge – €465,000

35a The Great Southern, or Greenview, is a roomy five-bedder that sits in a peaceful cul de sac and is walking distance from Newbridge. Inside, the ground floor comprises an entrance hall, family sitting room, open plan kitchen and dining room along with a utility room and a guest toilet. 

Of the five bedrooms, the main has an en suite bathroom with the remaining sharing the family bathroom. There’s a large back garden complete with a generously-sized decking area. The house is part of a development called The Great Southern. It’s well suited to families and those who might need to commute to Dublin seeing as it’s close to motorways and public transport in Newbridge.

Another five bed home, that’s closer to Naas and is in the form of a spacious dormer bungalow, this house has great countryside views and lots of space. Inside, the rooms comprise an entrance porch, entrance hall, a family sitting room and an open plan kitchen and dining space. There is another more formal dining room, too. Of the five beds, three are en suite.

The gardens surrounding the home are well landscaped and home to a patio area for outdoor entertaining and a tarmac driveway that leads to plenty of parking spaces. Naas, Newbridge and Kildare are just quick drives away and Dublin city centre is easy to get to by car or public transport.

This house called Kilbeg sits on about a third of an acre in Kildangan village. It has a high energy rating of B3 and dates back to 2000. It has been well taken care of and renovated over the years ensuring a cosy home that may just need the new owner’s touch. There’s a great garden with ample space with countryside views which will fool you into thinking you’re more rural. 

Inside spans 160 m² with the ground floor comprising a hallway that leads to the living room, open plan kitchen and dining room and four double bedrooms, two of which are en suite. There’s also a utility room on the ground floor.
