IF BEING BY the sea while still having easy access to the city centre is your dream living situation, Tycanna might just be the home for you.
Originally built around 1930, 129 Dublin Road was extensively rebuilt and refurbished 15 years ago, and was then further extended in 2010. It now has five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Despite its refurbishments, Tycanna retains its original character and charm through 9ft tall ceilings, ornate coving, cast iron radiators, bay windows and parquet solid oak timber floors.

Floor-to-ceiling doors and windows, as well as Velux windows, flood the entire room with natural light.
A glass door leads to the back garden, which comprises of a sizable lawn, flower beds and a gated side entrance.
The utility room provides further storage, while a study room across the hall has the potential to be transformed into a sixth bedroom. An en-suite bathroom separates the study from the fifth bedroom, which has direct access to the rear garden through a patio door.
Lack of natural light is no issue at Tycanna, with an atrium roof light on the landing. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, providing excess space for growing families. An en-suite bathroom extends from the master bedroom, with a family bathroom directly across the hall.
At the front of the home, electric gates open to reveal the landscaped front garden with a paved patio, which provides room for several cars.
Those familiar with the area will know there is an abundance of local amenities to hand, including shops, schools and public transport. One of Dublin’s loveliest walks along the coast is just a stone’s throw away, as well as a cycle path along the Dublin Road.
