A 38-year-old man has been arrested over the case.

COCAINE WORTH MORE than half a million euro has been seized after gardaí stopped and searched a van in Kilkenny.

The operation, which happened on Saturday evening, was part of an intelligence-led investigation targeting drug dealers in the area.

Gardaí stopped the van at Jordanstown in Kilkenny at around 6.30pm last night and found the drugs during the search. The cocaine has an estimated street value of €560,000, pending analysis.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Thomastown Garda Station.

“These operations use advanced analytical and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks,” a garda spokesperson said.
