Cocaine worth €220k seized by customs at Dublin Airport

One man has been arrested after nearly a quarter of a million euros worth of cocaine was seized at Dublin Airport.

ONE MAN HAS been arrested in connection with a drugs seizure at Dublin Airport today, during which cocaine with a street value of approximately €220,000 was seized.

In a joint operation between the airport’s Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Immigration Bureau, approximately 3.16kgs of cocaine was seized.

A 48 year-old male Guyanese national who had arrived from Sao Paulo, Brazil, was intercepted after arriving at the airport. Investigators then uncovered the drugs, which had been concealed in a false-bottomed suitcase.

The man was was arrested and handed over to the Ballymun Garda Drug Squad. He is due to appear in court later today.
