Comedian Frank Carson passes away aged 85

The Belfast-born comedian passed away at his home today surrounded by his family.

BELFAST-BORN COMEDIAN Frank Carson, known for his catchphrase “It’s the way I tell em”, has died aged 85.

In a statement reported by the BBC, his family said that Carson passed away at his home in Blackpool, Lancashire today surrounded by his relatives. His funeral will be held in Belfast.

Carson’s health was poor in recent years, though he underwent successful surgery for stomach cancer last year.

The Telegraph reports that, until recently, Carson was still performing.

Born in Belfast, the comedian worked as a plasterer and electrician before his entertainment career was launched through his appearances on the Opportunity Knocks show.
