In some good news, new figures showed that Irish kids are getting healthier.

However, Mrs Shalakalananaka isn’t entirely on board with modern versus traditional cooking methods:

Kids these days eat too much crap. When I used to cook dinner for my lot, I’d put whatever food I had into a big bot and boil it- carrots, potatoes, apples, bit of milk, bananas, slice of bread, cheese, butter and chicken legs, all healthy bits so they got their vitamins. Now the grandkids come over and I bake cake for their dinner. How times have changed.

Lots of you got in touch to send on your good wishes, with potty o shea saying:

She is a bright and beautiful girl. I always love listening to her bubbly voice on the radio! Good luck to you Louise health wise and in your upcoming marriage..

Many people were, rightly, impressed with Costica Nedelcu – the Panda worker who found €1,500 in a shoe … and returned it.

Scorpionvenomm summed it up well:

FairPlay to him, great to see that there is still good people in this world that’s genuine and honest

Last but not least, several of you had your say on TheJournal.ie‘s latest development – a paywall for the comments section*:

Michael Tobin is on board but doesn’t have the finances just yet:

This looks like a fantastic idea. I’d love to sign up immediately, but all of my money is tied up with a Prince in West Africa who is fighting a legal battle to get his fortune back.
I’ll definitely sign up when he makes me richer than Richie Rich.

Meanwhile, Con Manne sung the praises of the little-known Papal:

Glad to see they took my tips to the writers on board. Free speech must be paid for! This will eliminate all the frivolous diatribes from people who refuse to participate in a serious manner. I’ve already set up a Papal (a subsidiary of Paypal) account, run by the vatican bank. Anyone wishing to join me can send me their bank details. Confidentiality guaranteed.

*Yes, it was an April Fools joke.
