Here’s all the traffic, transport and weather news you need.

IT’S THURSDAY: get through today and the weekend will be in touching distance.

Morning, readers.

Not while driving, of course.

Let’s see what the weather has in store for us.

Met Éireann says the day will be mild, breezy and cloudy, with rain along western coasts. (Things will be drier for us folk in Dublin.)

If you’re driving through Dublin this morning:

  • Traffic is moving well on the M50 in both directions
  • The Phibsborough Road is busy inbound between Hart’s Corner and Doyle’s Corner
  • The right turn for Kilmainham on Con Colbert Road is also busy
  • The North Quays are slow at Bachelors Walk
  • It’s slowing inbound on the Navan Road at the Ashtown roundabout
  • Guild Street southbound has delays from Seville Place to the Samuel Beckett bridge
  • Traffic is getting busy inbound from North Strand to Five Lamps on Amiens Street
  • Inbound traffic is building from the Drumcondra Road/Whitworth Road junction to the Dorset Street/NCR junction

AA Roadwatch says there are wet conditions on roads in Cavan, Portlaoise, Ennis and Wexford.

Be careful out there.

Reports are coming in of a breakdown in the right lane of the N4 inbound at J2 Liffey Valley.

Also in Dublin, a broken down bus has blocked a lane on the Lusk Road to Blakes Cross.

In Cork, there are some delays on Parliament Street inbound turning left onto Grand Parade.

Further in, traffic is busy on Patrick Street onto Lavitt’s Quay.

Delays are also building on both the N40 South Ring Road and the N8 Dublin Road approaching the Dunkettle Interchange.

In Dublin, the N4 Lucan Rd is now very busy inbound from before J4 Newcastle to the Palmerstown Bypass.

And here’s how Dublin city centre looks this morning. Traffic is heaviest along the quays, Thomas Street and around O’Connell Bridge.

Capture

A truck has broken down on the N2 Monaghan Road inbound before the M50.

Here’s how the M50‘s looking right now.

Another broken down vehicle in Dublin is causing delays on the Clontarf Road inbound approaching the left turn to the Alfie Byrne Road.

Let’s look at how things are shaping up outside the capital:

  • In Wicklow, there are delays on the N11 Wexford/Dublin Road northbound from J7 Bray South to Windgates.
  • In Kerry, construction work has reduced traffic to one lane on the N70 Iveragh Road
  • In Cork, delays are building on the N28 Ringaskiddy Road northbound through Carr’s Hill, as well as approaching the N28 from Rochestown Road westbound

In Dublin, there are reports of a broken down car at the bottom of the Brewery Road onto Stillorgan Road.

There’s also been a breakdown on the R139 westbound approaching the M1/M50 Interchange in the right lane.

Here’s how traffic’s doing on the M50 now.

Another breakdown has been reported in Dublin on the Clarehall Road westbound before the M1/M50 Interchange in the right lane.

For anyone leaving or passing through Westmeath this morning:

In Galway, traffic is heavy inbound on the N84 Headford Road from Ballindooley Cross to Sean Mulvoy Road junction.

It’s busy inbound on the N17 Tuam Rd from Loughgeorge to Claregalway, as well as on the N6 Dublin Rd approaching the Coolagh roundabout.

There are also westbound delays on Bóthar na dTreabh from the Martin roundabout to the Briarhill junction.

And with that I’m off. Off the liveblog, that is.

We’ll be back bright and early tomorrow!
