Competition: What Irish person would be your dream dinner party guest?

Roy Keane, Seamus Heaney, Maureen O’Hara… We want to know.

EVERYONE LOVES GOOD food. That’s a given.

And what’s better than enjoying good food? Sharing it with friends, of course.

We all know the famous conversation-starter – who would be your dream dinner party guests?

People often say the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Winston Churchill and Stephen Fry, but Irish guests rarely get a look-in.

And yet, they’d probably be the best craic of all. Bono for the name-dropping, Sinead O’Connor for the post-dinner singalong, Dara O’Briain for the dry wit … The list is endless.

So, we’re asking you to let us know in the comments what Irish person – past or present – would be a shoe-in for a place at your table?

Give us the best answer and you stand a chance to win a special Jamie Oliver hamper including pesto, chilli chocolate, real tomato ketchup, brown sauce, pickled cucumber and more.

And don’t forget, the Arnotts Home Value Event is now on, with up to 50% across Home – furniture, dining, beds, kitchen and more.
