THE VICTORIOUS CONNACHT Rugby team is taking an open-top bus parade around Galway City and fans have come out in force to cheer them on.

The province secured its first Pro12 title yesterday with a defeat of Leinster and the team is receiving a hero’s welcome in the club’s home town.

After crowds showed up at Knock Airport last night to welcome the team home, a sunny Galway City is now the venue for the second day of celebrations.

The team’s open-top bus has been making its way across the city and thousands have turned up along the route to cheer them after yesterday’s win.

This was the scene from the top of the bus it passed William Street in the city.

The parade will end at The Sportsground where the trophy will be lifted again.
