Convenience store chain to create 150 new jobs

Centra has announced it is to invest €10 million in new store openings in Ireland this year.

CONVENIENCE STORE CENTRA has announced it is to create 150 new jobs in Ireland this year.

The retail chain is to open 20 new stores across Ireland in 2012 in an investment worth €10 million. The chain will employ almost 15,000 people by the end of the year, the managing director said this morning.

The company is to add a further 150 jobs to its chain through store extensions and other independent shops joining the Centra network.

Centra recorded €1.4 billion in sales in 2011 and processes over 3 million customer transactions per week.
