Man in his 20s arrested in Donegal after gardaí find gun and ammunition

The man is being detained at Letterkenny garda station.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man after discovering a gun and live ammunition at a house in Donegal.

At around 6pm, the Regional Support Unit searched a premises near the village of Convoy as part of a planned operation.

According to gardaí, officers recovered a firearm and a quantity of ammunition.

A spokesman said: “A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Letterkenny Garda station where he is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.

“The investigation is ongoing.”
