Woman (40s) dies after being hit by a motorcycle in Coolock

A WOMAN IN her 40s has died after she was hit by a motorcycle yesterday evening in Coolock, Dublin.

Gardaí said they are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a woman in her 40s that occurred yesterday evening just before 7.15pm on the R139 in Coolock.

The woman was taken to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries.

She was later pronounced dead and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out. The motorcyclist was uninjured.

The R139 was closed following the collision while a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators was carried out. The road has since re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R139 at Coolock between 7pm and 7:30pm yesterday evening are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
