Two arrested in connection with death of young girl who fell unconscious in wooded area

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have made two arrests in connection with the death of a 15-year-old girl in Portadown, Co Armagh.

The young teenage girl was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital at about 6pm last Saturday after she fell unconscious in a wooded area in Corcrain. She subsequently died in hospital.

The PSNI has confirmed that two men, aged 19 and 17, have now been arrested in connection with her death.

“Both males remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries at this stage,” a spokesperson said.

It had been reported previously  that police were investigating whether drugs had played any part in the death.
