Renewed appeal after man found injured in Cork passes away

Gardaí investigating the death are asking anyone with information to get in contact.

A RENEWED APPEAL for information has been issued by gardaí in Cork after a man found unconscious at St Patrick’s Quay died in hospital.

The 36-year-old was found in a collapsed state at around 10pm on Thursday.

He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital, where he passed away from his injuries this morning.

He is understood to have suffered facial injuries.

Gardaí say they are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death and are eager for witnesses to come forward so they can rule out foul play.

They are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the St Patrick’s Quay area between 9pm and 10.30pm on Thusday night to contact Mayfield Garda Station 021 4558510 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
