Man arrested after coming out from under Cork bridge

A rescue operation was launched after the man was spotted in the water.

A MAN HAS been arrested after being persuaded to come out from under a bridge in Cork City.

A full-scale rescue operation involving the coastguard and Crosshaven RNLI was launched after the man was seen entering the water at Parnell Bridge shortly after 7am this morning.

Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene and began negotiating with the man.

Gardaí say he has now been arrested.
