Woman in her 60s killed in three-vehicle crash

Two cars and a mini-bus crashed in Schull, Co Cork, this afternoon.

A WOMAN IN her 60s has died in a road crash in Schull, Co Cork.

The collision, between two cars and a mini-bus happened at around 4pm this afternoon, according to gardaí.

“A woman in her 60s, the driver of a car, was fatally injured,” a statement said.

“Her body has been taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH).

“The female driver of the mini-bus was removed to CUH, but is not thought to be seriously injured.”

There were no passengers on the bus when the crash happened. The woman driving the second car escaped uninjured.

The road remains closed around the scene of the crash and forensic tests are being carried out.

Gardaí say they’re are seeking witnesses. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Bantry Garda Station on 027 20860.
