Two held after cocaine seized from taxi in Cork

Two people are being questioned by gardaí in Cork following the seizure in Glanmire yesterday afternoon.

TWO PEOPLE ARE being held by gardaí in connection with a cocaine seizure from a taxi in Glanmire in Cork yesterday afternoon.

Following a surveillance operation, gardaí stopped a taxi in Glanmire just before 2pm yesterday afternoon and seized a kilo of cocaine.

The drugs seized have an estimated street value of €70,000.

A 56-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with the incident.
