Like sun? Like beach parties? There'll be a tonne of new flights from Cork to Ibiza this summer

In the words of The Venga Boys…

A NEW TWICE weekly route from Cork to Ibiza starts this summer.

The route, which will operate from June 11 to September 21, will add more than 8,000 seats to the airport’s schedule.

CSA Czech Airlines will run the service.

A hugely popular destination, the Balearic island attracts around six million visitors each year.

As well as offering great beaches, secluded coastlines and the rich, rich heritage of Ibiza town – it’s also, as we all know, a party haven.

According to Cork Airport Managing Director Niall MacCarthy, “of course, it offers the younger holiday maker some of the best nightlife around”.

The Venga Boys, perhaps, make a slightly more compelling case for the place…

Ibiza is a beautiful island it has it dodgy areas but in all is stunning place . Having spent most of my summers in my 20s there I can tell you it’s no hole . It’s got stunning beaches and the old town is beautiful . Also if you get a boat ride to formentera you will find beaches that would rival the Caribbean look it up . The trick is to avoid San Antonio stay closer to the old town most of the big club’s are nearer the old town anyway . San Antonio is more a 18/30s holiday .

It is the greatest place on earth. No matter want you want you find it there. Its a magical place with the odd shit hole where the budget holiday makers look to make a name for themselves. If you like dance music & go to the right places you are sure oa to miss the piss heads. If you go to the north of this island its great for families. The Romans used to go on holidays there so it must have something. 2 thousands years of hedonism.

You do not need to be an alcoholic, hippie or druggie to go to the Island, those programs from the English TV have given a false image of that place in order to sell their own bars and this does get a few to go, thinking it is like that but it isn’t as plenty of families with children go there as do the elderly as well.
