Nine fire units battling blaze at Cork timber factory

The fire broke out this morning at Lissarda, west of Cork city.

NINE UNITS FROM Cork City and County fire services are attending a large commercial fire west of the city.

The fire broke out this morning at Lissarda, west of Cork city.

Cork City Fire Brigade tweeted that they had two units in attendance, along with seven from Cork County Fire Brigade.

Pictures posted from the scene show thick black smoke coming from the commercial property, which is home to a timber factory.

It is understood two firefighters were injured fighting the blaze but that their injuries are not serious.
