Gardaí appeal for witnesses to killing of homeless man in Cork city

GARDAÍ ARE APPEALING for witnesses to the killing of Vincent Morgain.

The 37-year-old French man was beaten last Thursday at around 2pm on Lower Oliver Plunkett Street in the heart of the city.

The Evening Echo reports that he had been homeless and that his family had come from France to be with him in recent days.

Gardaí arrested a 22-year-old man from County Cork in the city yesterday.

He was detained at Bridewell Garda Station in Cork under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident or anyone with information to contact them at Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 452 2000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
