Cork Penny Dinners: "It is hard - and it's getting harder for people"

Staff at Cork Penny Dinners spoke to TheJournal.ie about their fears around Budget 2014.

CORK PENNY DINNERS staff see people from all walks of life turning up at their door for food.

Parents with their children, older people, unemployed and employed men and women; all turning to the service because they can’t afford to buy themselves anything to eat.

We spoke to staff members at Cork Penny Dinners during a trip to Cork to look at the impact of the Budget around the country.

This video below struck a chord with our readers, many of whom were very moved by the stories they heard.

Here, the staff explain how they never know who will turn up at their door, and how things are “getting harder for people”.
