ASIDE FROM THE instant charm a thatched roof has, they do much more than please the eye. From great insulation to using environmentally friendly materials, it’s not hard to see why they’re an attractive feature to those who like living in rural parts of Ireland.
This week, we’ve sourced four character-filled homes with thatched roofs that are on the market right now.
This thatched cottage has plenty of modern additions, but hasn’t lost its traditional roots following a refurbishment both inside and out. You can expect underfloor heating in the bedrooms and sitting room, double glazed sash windows and new composite doors. The roof has also had maintenance recently.
