Man (24) killed in single vehicle crash in Tipperary

The man was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a tree.

A 24-YEAR-old man was killed in a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision at Bantis, near Cloughjordan, Co Tipperary at around 5.45pm yesterday evening.

The man was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a tree.

He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where he was later pronounced dead.

The road is currently closed pending a technical examination and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067-50450, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
