Car overturns after smashing into a speed limit sign

The three passengers in the car managed to escape uninjured and fled the scene.

AN GARDA SÍOCHÁNA has issued a warning for motorists to slow down after a car full of people overturned in Kildare.

Earlier today they attended the scene of the incident, which saw a Toyota collide with a speed limit sign before hitting a wall and overturning onto its roof.

Thankfully the three passengers in the car were seemingly uninjured and fled the scene.

This comes after two major road crashes in less than 48 hours on Irish roads.

Earlier this morning a garda was among two hospitalised in an early morning collision in Donegal.

Yesterday evening two men aged in their 20s were killed when a car collided with a van in Limerick.

Along with the pictures of the crash in Ballitore, Kildare, gardaí tweeted the message: “Please SLOW DOWN!!”
