Woman (61) killed in two car crash in Kilkenny

The male driver of the second car received minor injuries only.

A WOMAN HAS been killed after two cars crashed in Co Kilkenny last night.

It happened on the N25 Waterford to New Ross road at Carrigunura, Slieverua at around 7.45pm.

The driver of one car, a woman aged 61, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was later removed to the morgue at Waterford University Hospital.

The male driver of the second car received minor injuries only. He has been taken to Waterford University Hospital for treatment.

A section of the road has been currently closed to traffic and local diversions put in place. Forensic tests are set to be carried out this morning.
