70-year-old man killed in Monaghan crash

It happened sometime between Thursday evening and Friday morning.

A MAN HAS been killed after a single vehicle crash in Monaghan.

The 70-year-old man died when the vehicle he was driving left the road at Coolcollid, Glaslough.

Gardaí say the crash happened sometime between 6pm on Thursday July 3 and 5am on Friday July 4.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a post mortem will be conducted.

The road was closed and examined by the Garda Forensic Collision Investigators – it has since reopened.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses to contact Monaghan Garda Station 047 – 77200, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
