A CAT IN the Crimean city of Sevastopol has miraculously survived an attack that left a kitchen knife embedded in its skull.

The stray cat, nicknamed Mr Zelyoniy (Mr Green) by locals, has been recovering in a local veterinarian’s after the kitchen knife was removed on Sunday.

German-based network Ruptly reports that the cat is believed to have been stabbed by an unidentified man but thankfully the knife missed the cat’s brain.

“The knife was wedged in the skull and the cat had probably run off before its attacker could remove the blade,” the president of a local animal charity Natalia Morozova told reporters.

Local vets say that the blade was buried a number of inches deep in the cat’s skull and was safely pulled out after x-rays determined the safest way to do so.

A video, which some may find disturbing, was posted by vets who removed the blade.

The cat is expected to make a full recovery.
