A delivery of wicker boxes and a chair bound for Dublin and Galway was hiding weed worth €150k

The seizure was made by customs officials.

IRISH CUSTOMS OFFICIALS today stopped a small chair that arrived from the UK and found cannabis herb inside.

Officials say the drugs were found inside the chair and in a collection of wicker boxes.

The discovery was made by Revenue officers at Portlaoise Mail Centre with a total of 7.5kg of the drugs found.

The value of the seizure is being estimated at €150,000.

The armchair originated from the UK and the wicker boxes from Thailand.

The packages were consigned to addresses in Dublin city and Galway.

Investigations are ongoing.
