Cyclist killed following collision with tractor

Traffic diversions are in place on the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Road.

A CYCLIST IN in her 60s has died following a collision with a tractor in Cork.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, which happened on the N28 Cork to Ringaskiddy Road at about 1pm today.

The driver of the tractor was uninjured. The body of the woman has been removed to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.

Traffic diversions are in place and forensic collision investigators are at the scene. Traffic approaching from Shannon Park roundabout is being diverted to Carrigaline and traffic from Ringaskiddy is being diverted to Rapheen.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Anglesea Street Garda Station on 021 452 2000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
