Cyclist killed in hit and run accident in Kerry

The man in his early 40s was fatally injured in the collision which happened this morning in Gneeveguilla.

A MAN IN his 40s has died following a hit and run accident in Kerry this morning.

The man was cycling a bicycle in the townland of Scrahanfadda, Gneeveguilla, between 8am and 10am this morning when the collision happened.

The road has been closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out an examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí have asked any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have travelled along the Killarney Road via Gneeveguilla this morning to contact Kanturk Garda Station on 028 – 20680, the Garda Confidential Telephone line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
