Cynthia Lennon, ex-wife of Beatle John, has died

She was 75 years old.

CYNTHIA LENNON, WHO was married to Beatle John Lennon, has died.

Her son Julian put a link to a memorial page to his mother on Facebook today.

Cynthia was born in 1939 and married John in 1962. They had their son Julian, and later divorced in 1968.

She went on to marry three more times, and was widowed in 2013.

She died of cancer in Mallorca, Spain, her son’s website says.

Julian “was at her bedside throughout”, says his website. Cynthia had settled in Mallorca in recent years.

Born in Blackpool in Lancashire, she met John Lennon while at art college.

In 1978, she wrote about her time with Lennon in a book called A Twist of Lennon – although her ex-husband tried to stop its publication.
